1. The Case For NFT Movie Tickets
🎟️ Movie tickets are an excellent utility for NFTs, and it has the potential to change how fans interact with films.
Movie theaters are way past their prime.
And they need new ways to make money…
👉 Enter NFT tickets.
Tokenized tickets would enable theaters to offer exclusive benefits to token holders, such as:
🎞️ special access,
🍿 discounts on snacks, or
📽️ early screenings.
I know what you’re thinking…
“Don’t theaters already do that?”
Yes, many do. But they use a centralized rewards program. 👎
NFTs allow:
On-chain verification
Social proof
Secondary sales
Ease of value transfer (wallet to wallet)
It would also enable theaters to collect valuable data about their customers, which could be used for marketing purposes.
Consumer Benefits:
Movie ticket NFTs would not only be your tickets to the movies, but they'd also be digital collectibles.
💡 In a world where digital identity is becoming increasingly paramount, NFTs are the best way of communicating your interests online.
Social Media Displays:
Social platforms, like Instagram and Twitter, have already begun integrating with blockchain technology - making it possible to display NFTs on your social profiles.
Blockchain integration will only increase as we move into 2023.
And this isn’t just wishful thinking...
It's Happening:
Many theaters, such as AMC and Cinemark, have already gotten in on the action.
🍿 AMC offered NFTs for several films, including Spiderman: No Way Home.
🍿 Cinemark offered NFTs for Thor: Love and Thunder and Bullet Train.
These were redeemable NFTs. So moviegoers could purchase a movie ticket (the usual way) and then use the movie ticket to redeem an NFT after the fact.
The NFTs weren't technically acting as movie tickets, however. Instead, they were digital collectibles commemorating the event.
And just so you know - this market already exists...
There's a massive market for physical movie collectibles and memorabilia. It's projected to reach $79.07 billion by 2025, according to Technavio.
👉 This demand will no doubt continue in the digital realm.
2. Bitcoin Turns 14 Years Old
🎂 Happy Birthday to Bitcoin, the revolutionary digital currency that has changed the world of finance and culture.
👉 Last Tuesday marked the 14th anniversary of Bitcoin's creation.
Here's some quick history:
Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin in 2009.
Satoshi used code and cryptography to establish Bitcoin as a decentralized digital currency not controlled by any government or financial institution.
Satoshi's innovation offered unprecedented levels of freedom and privacy when making payments, transfers, and exchanges over the internet.
Since then, Bitcoin's value has grown exponentially, with many people investing in it as an alternative asset class.
It remains one of the most popular cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin's birthday is a reminder of what can be accomplished with innovation and digital technology.
It’s inspired other projects and initiatives in blockchain technology, smart contracts, NFTs, decentralized applications (dApps), and more.
3. Monday Motivation
I’m just going to say it…
🚨 The economy sucks right now. 📉
And it doesn't look like it’s getting better any time soon.
Here's the best way to spend your time during the recession:
👉 CREATE CONTENT!
I don't care if it's:
writing,
making videos,
designing, or
podcasting.
Whatever your creative passion is – take this time of economic stress and turn it into something productive.
Think about it: you'll be dealing with this recession for a long time.
You can either:
Spend your time sitting around feeling sorry for yourself, or
You can use it as an opportunity to better yourself.
You might even make some money while you're at it. 🤷♂️
Social platforms are adding new monetization features every month.
So don't just sit on the couch moping about the economy. 🙅♂️
Get out there and start making things happen! 💪
4. Winter is Coming to the Blockchain
Are you ready for an official Game of Thrones NFT project?
Here's the scoop:
Warner Bros. & HBO teamed up with Nifty's.
The Game of Thrones ("GoT") NFT project is launching on January 10th.
It'll exist on the Ethereum blockchain.
The first drop will be from "The North."
Collectors will receive a Hero Box that includes the following:
1 Hero (or Legendary Hero) Avatar.
9 Equipables (weapons, gear, companions).
3 Story Cards featuring the show's iconic scenes, characters, and locations.
The idea is to allow collectors to build their realm within the GoT Universe.
Your avatar could be a:
White Walker,
Commoner,
Noble,
Man-at-Arms,
Night’s Watch
Maester, or
Free Folk.
You can purchase these NFTs with either a:
💳 Credit Card,
💳 Debit Card, or
🌐 Crypto.
This project is massive for the Web3 space.
GoT is arguably the biggest and most successful show of all time.
Here are some stats...
GoT had an average viewer count of 44.2m during all seasons.
GoT dominates on social media (46m mentions leading up to the finale).
Fans consistently vote for GoT as one of the best shows of all time.
The GoT NFT collection is likely to get a lot of media buzz thanks to the franchise's global popularity.
The brand's also RED HOT right now, coming off the heels of the prequel, "House of the Dragon."
This project should turn some heads.
And the more positive attention NFTs receive, the quicker NFTs normalize.
The GoT NFT project is a stamp of legitimacy from Hollywood.
Many Web3 skeptics are blindly convinced that NFTs are fraudulent scams.
But this NFT collection flies in the face of that flawed logic.
Why would one of the most successful shows in the world stake its reputation on something fraudulent or scammy? 🤔
They wouldn't. 🙅♂️
Warner Bros. and HBO recognized their IP's opportunity within Web3, so they seized it.
I'm PUMPED for this collection.
I already own a GoT physical collectible...
It's an authentic GoT Ale Horn.
I was notorious for filling it up with wine during GoT episodes and yelling "more wine" whenever I needed a refill. 🤣🤷♂️
Tyrian Lannister would've been proud.
